Adopt Binnacle Clearview

This cute, 2.36kg. little joey was rescued following a bushfire in an area of Port Macquarie named Hibbard Heath, which is part of the Port Macquarie Airport land. The first part of his name is derived from a street and building subdivision called The Binnacle, and the second part from the brand name of a Company called Oxoid, who very kindly provide us with equipment and supplies for Chlamydia testing of our Koalas.

Fortunately, upon admission to the Koala Hospital, it was found that little Binnacle had only relatively minor burns, but all paws and claws had suffered the worst of the flames. There were some superficial burns to his right rear quarters and he was suffering from shock and dehydration.

After treatment, he was released back into his home territory.
